A couple months ago I read a blog post that really changed the way I think. Unfortunately I didn't click the like button and I don't remember who wrote it. So I can't show it to you, but I'll tell you what I learned from it. It was a post about
travel. It basically said.....GET UP AND TRAVEL!!! So many people don't make time for travel. It's not a top priority for a lot of people, but in my opinion it should be. It's important to go explore different places. It's important to take a break from normal life, even if it's just for a day or two. Another issue is MONEY. This was the part that stood out to me the most in the blog post I read. It said that even if you don't think you have much money, just go. Plan on going, and the money issue will work itself out. Obviously that doesn't mean to go get into a lot of debt, but do whatever you can. Even if you can only go to a different city within your own state for a couple days, do it. Or plan a trip 6 months ahead and the money will work itself out. I love this because I'm a poor 20 year old working as a waitress at a pizza place.... I don't have much money, and the money I do have is going toward school and gas money and such. But it really inspired me to just go. I've never been out of the country, and I haven't been to many states, but there's nothing I love more than a simple road trip to St.George or Lake Powell or California. Anyways, I'm definitely not explaining it as well as she did, but my point is, EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE TRAVEL A PRIORITY. Whether it's just a little camping trip, or somewhere foreign. Or whether it's with friends or strangers or by yourself. Whether you have a lot of money or not. GOOOO. :)
That being said, I went to California this past week! Chloe, Jaj and I went for 5 days and stayed at Jaj's aunt and uncle's house. They are so sweet to let us stay there. Not only did they "let us stay there" but they took good care of us. Let us have our own room, took us to do fun things like paddle boarding and eating pizza from Lorocco's, and made pretty much every meal for us. They are awesome.
Wayho... I need to just take a moment and explain how much I LOVE California. I want to live there so bad. I love everything about it. Nooooope I take that back. I HATE driving in California. Luckily Chloe and Jaj took care of the driving. I hate the traffic and the confusing exits and the 5 lane freeway. It's a nightmare for a worry wart (and terrible driver) like me. Anyways, other than that, the place is amazing. The houses there are so cute. They're all colorful and pretty and happy and the neighborhood we were staying at was SO cute. Some of the neighbors were playing baseball in the street and that's just something I don't see in my neighborhood. I love the shopping in California. The kind of stores I like to shop at have pretty much the same price range as the stores in Utah that I like to shop at. But in California, everything feels higher quality. It's great. I may have spent $150 dollars at one single store :/ I love that the people in Cali do anything they feel like and there are a lot of strange people doing strange things but no one is worried about it. It's great. I love the weather there. And of course, my favorite part..... the ocean. DUUUUHH! Two years ago I went to the ocean for my very very first time. It was in California on my senior trip. I fell in love with it. The beach is just soooo fun but so relaxing and so pretty and just.... oh man. I could just be at the beach all day everyday. I love it. Amazing at night too. Anyways, enough about that. The moral of the story is, I just need to live there. One day I will.
We had such a good time. I think my favorite part was paddle boarding. We were in a harbor, so it was easy with no waves. And no sharks..... at least that's what I told myself. I'm sure there still could be sharks. But it was just nice and relaxing.
We left to come home on Thursday morning. San Clemente is about 11 hours from Salt Lake, so we left at 930 AM. We thought that would give us plenty of time and we would get home at a decent hour to wake up for school and work the next morning.... Wellllllll leave it to us to get lost. California to Utah is a simple drive.... a straight shot. All you have to do is hop on the freeway. But nope.... somehow we ended up waaaaay off track. Siri took us to Carson City, Nevada. After driving on a weird, lonely road for about an hour, chloe looked at the phone and realized that we were headed to Carson City. So we had to back track a really long way. It put us about 4 hours back. Soooo that was fun. We didn't get home until 2 AM. Oh well. You live and you learn?????? Hahaha I guess that's what you get when you have 3 blondes on a road trip... JK. Only one of us is naturally blonde. Hmmmmmm?? ;)
Ayways thanks for reading and get ready for another picture overload =)
